We Believe...
Our church members are united by the conviction that in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, God became one of us. We believe that Jesus died on the Cross in our place to bring us forgiveness and friendship with God.
We are convinced that God has spoken and continues to speak to us in the words of the Bible.
We are a community of God’s people who gather week by week because we love God and long to know him better. In our church services we hear what God has to teach us through the Bible because the message of Jesus’ death and resurrection has enormous implications for how we live life in God’s world. We also sing his praises and we pray for one another and the world in which we live.
We don’t expect everyone to be a Christian; in fact we love the fact that many are coming to check out Jesus for the first time. Our church exists to help people to become Christians. If you would like to know what it means to be a Christian then we run ‘Alpha’ and ‘Christianity Explored’ courses throughout the year. These courses explain in a clear and simple way what the Bible teaches about Jesus Christ and what it means to follow him. These courses are free.

Seaforth Anglican Church (originally known as St Paul’s) is an evangelical Anglican Church located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
As an Anglican church, we affirm the truths as laid out in the Nicene and Apostles Creeds. We also affirm the truths expressed in the ’39 Articles’ of the Anglican Church.
The following statement of faith sets out in a concise fashion the cornerstone truths of our church, as guided by Scripture.
The unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead;
God’s loving creation of the universe, the creation of humanity in his image, the value of the creation sustained and ruled by God, the final resurrection, and the renewal of the world at the return of Christ;
The universal sinfulness of humanity since the fall, rendering men and women subject to God’s judgment;
The conception of Jesus by the Holy Spirit and his birth by the Virgin Mary;
God’s gracious provision of redemption from the guilt, penalty, and power of sin only through the sacrificial death, as our representative and substitute, of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God;
The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead; his ascension, heavenly reign, return, judgment, and glory;
The church as the people of God, the body and the bride of Christ, and the temple of the Holy Spirit;
The call to ministry in the church and in the world, including the ministries of word and sacrament, evangelism and church planting, pastoral care, mutual ministry, and cross-cultural world mission;
The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective in the individual sinner, granting him or her repentance towards God, and faith in Jesus Christ;
The indwelling, work and gifts of the Holy Spirit in believers and in the church;
The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
